Clinically proven strength
Travelan® is a caplet that should be taken orally before every meal. Take one or two caplets before each meal, three times per day.
Travelan® should be taken whenever concerned or where the increased risk of diarrhea is present – domestically or abroad. If traveling abroad, start taking Travelan® 48 hours before travel and during the period of travel.
Additional caplets may be taken when increased protection to maintain a healthy gut is required such as when snacking between meals. Travelan® should be used as an adjunct to normal hygiene practises.
How does Travelan® work
When you take one or two caplets of Travelan® before a meal, it lays in wait in the gastrointestinal tract. If you consume food or drinks that are contaminated with diarrhea causing bacteria such as Enterotoxigenic E.coli, Travelan® utilizes specific antibodies to bind the bacteria, neutralizing them and inhibiting their attachment to the intestinal wall.
Travelan® works to target and neutralise bacteria before they can make you sick and rob you of your precious travel time.

Side effects and contraindications
Travelan® contains cow’s milk proteins, lactose and glucose. The amount of lactose in Travelan® has been reduced to 10% compared to about 50% in skim milk powder. Therefore do not take Travelan® if you have an allergy to bovine protein or are lactose intolerant, due to the presence of milk protein and lactose in the product. Similarly for diabetics, the amount of glucose per caplet is about 50mg.
Travelan® is not recommended for use in infants under the age of 12 months.
Travelan® is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age except on professional health advice. The whole caplet may be difficult for children to ingest if they are under 6 years of age. The caplets are easily broken in half or crushed into a powder for easier administration.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use.
If you have any questions consult your health professional.
